PURPOSE:To enable easy and optimum control of a feed amount of a combustion assistant, by a method wherein, based on a signal responding to the number of revolutions of an engine, a feed amount of the combustion assistant is controlled. CONSTITUTION:An engine 1 is provided with a feed means for a combustion assistant formed by water and a treatment substance in which hydrocarbon series oil is treated by a strong alkali agent. The feed means comprises a tank 2 to contain a combustion assistant and a solenoid valve 4 coupled to the tank 2 through a feed pipe 3. A control device is formed with a high voltage spark detecting circuit 5, serving as a means to detect a signal responding to rotation of an engine, a waveform shaping circuit 6, a D/A converter 7, and an amplifier 8. A solenoid valve 4 is opened according to the intensity of an output from the amplifier 8, and the combustion assistance in the tank 2 is fed to an engine 1 according to an opening amount of the solenoid valve 4. |
