<p>PURPOSE:To form a coating composition good in smoothness, blackness, hiding power, light resistance, electrical insulating property, heat stability, etc., and suitable for use in inks, by using a specified titanium oxide or oxynitride as a black pigment in a black coating composition based on a resin binder and said black pigment. CONSTITUTION:A black coating composition based on a resin binder and a black pigment, wherein said black pigment is a fine powder of a titanium oxide or oxynitride of the general formula: TiNxOy (wherein 0<=x<1.25 and 0.16<y<2), and a volume specific resistivity >=10<5>OMEGA.cm. In order to give good hiding power to the obtained film, said coating composition is preferred to have an optical density <=2.0 (as measured on light transmitted by a film of a thickness <=3mu).</p> |
