The invention relates to internal combustion engines in order to increase their efficiency. The engine consists of two pistons defining the combustion chamber. The said pistons describe a cycle greater than that of Beau de Rochas. It is characterised by the fact that the expansion volume is greater than the intake volume. Moreover, the fact that the exhaust volume is zero (point A) will allow the burnt gases and the fresh gases never to come into contact. In addition, by virtue of the two pistons, the intake-compression-expansion-exhaust phases are grouped together in a single revolution, which makes it possible to have twice the power. <IMAGE>
