A device for extracting a sample for substrate layers, consisting of a hollow body running to a point, the latter being pyramid-shaped and formed by at least three wedge-shape-angled functional parts tapering to a point on the substrate side, which are arranged between two sleeves so as to be displaceable. The sleeves are preferably of truncated pyramid shape.
