PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head which can execute the correct track width regulation and is high in reproducibility by providing a superconductive material at least at both edge parts of the track width direction of a core front surface and regulating a track width at the clearance of the superconductive material. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head 10 for perpendicular recording lays a nonmagnetic material between a main magnetic pole 2 and an auxiliary magnetic pole 7, further, a nonmagnetic material 6 is integrated to the main magnetic pole 2, a superconducting material 4 is provided on both edge parts of the track width direction of the core front surface and the track width at the time of recording and reproducing is regulated by the clearance. The superconducting material 4 remains near the main magnetic pole 2, the nonmagnetic material 5 and the auxiliary magnetic pole 7 of a track part, may be provided even at the other part of the core front surface, and may be also provided only on both edge parts of the track width direction of the core front surface in a stripe shape. It is preferable that the thickness of the superconducting material 4 provided is usually about 0.1mum-1mum and the material is formed by the gas phase adhering method such as sputtering in order to regulate the track width correctly. |
