VOLTMETER HAVING ELECTROOPTICAL EFFECT APPLIED THERETO

PURPOSE:To obtain a voltmeter simplified in the structure thereof and low in cost, by utilizing light pervious ceramic having natural birefringence as an electrooptical material to suppress the change in a temp. and to avoid a 1/4 wavelength plate. CONSTITUTION:Light emitted from a tungsten electric bulb 11 lighted by a stabilized power source 10 is passed through a heat ray absorbing filter 12 and a spectral luminous efficiency compensation filter 13 to be guided to a voltage sensor part constituted from such a structure that a polarizer 1 and an analyser 4 are arranged so as to cross the respective light axes at right angles and plural sets of Al electrodes are simultaneously formed therebetween in opposed relation to light pervious ceramic 6 to be connected to a lead wire 9 by a light guide 14. In the voltage sensor part, light receiving strong modulation by voltage guided by a measuring terminal 15 is applied to a photodiode 16 to be converted to an electric signal. This electric signal is amplified by a control box 17 and displayed by a meter or other display apparatus.
