Method and device for putting a film strip into a cassette

A method is described for cutting off and winding up a film strip and a protective strip and for putting them into a cassette, which method can be used for different lengths of film and is scarcely susceptible to any failure. In this method, the film strip and the protective strip which is forwardly offset in the running direction are fed via one guide each to a winding shaft, cut off, jointly wound onto the winding shaft and are pushed after the winding into a laterally open cassette. The method consists in the fact that the film strip which is transported on the guide is stopped by suitable means at a defined point before reaching the winding shaft, is then cut off at a predetermined position of the guide, is then pushed into the gore (gap) of the protective strip which has already been forwardly wound onto the winding shaft by the measure of the offset, and is then wound jointly with the protective strip onto the winding shaft by driving said shaft.
