FAULT SIMULATING SYSTEM FOR DUPLICATED VOLUME

PURPOSE:To easily simulate an iOD fault or the like by executing fault simulation after changing simultaneous access to both the sides of a duplicated volume to successive access to single sides. CONSTITUTION:At the time of accessing only the simultaneous writing of two physical volumes constituting a duplicated volume by prescribed processing (a)-(c), a hard fault simulator (HSS) 1 changes the access to read/write mixed processing or executes simulation for making the access look like an iOD fault. A branch instruction (SVC instruction) 2 is included in duplicated volume I/O control (DIOCS) 3 to transfer control to HSS/. When the HSS/ to which control is transferred by the branch instruction 2 inserted into the DIOCS 3 accesses only the writing of a physical volume to be allowed to simulate a fault by the prescribed processing (a)-(c), the access is forcedly changed to read/write mixed access to simulate the fault.
