PURPOSE:To enable an on-demand type ink jet recording device which can extend over the full width of recording paper to be available by moving a piston in a cylinder by a required amount to cause liquid in the cylinder to migrate and allowing liquid droplets to be injected through a nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A piston 2 is allowed to move freely through a cylinder 1 with a prearranged high precision clearance, and travels to an arrow direction by an electrostatic attractive force which is applied alternately to electrodes 3, 4 arranged at the end of the cylinder 1. When the piston 2 moves vertically, the piston 2 exerts force to liquid in the cylinder, and ink droplets 7 are caused to spew out of a nozzle 6. Contrarily, when the electrode above is driven to cause the piston 2 to move upward, fresh liquid (ink) is sucked into the cylinder 1 and the following round of ink droplet injection is ready. For the consecutive rounds of injections, the piston 2 is moved vertically to repeatedly inject ink droplets from the nozzle like the initial round of injection. |
