PURPOSE:To obtain a rust preventive wax, consisting of an oil-modified alkyd resin and/or resin-modified alkyd resin and basic calcium alkylbenzenesulfonate with thixotropic properties and having excellent moisture, kerosene and water resistance. CONSTITUTION:A rust preventive wax obtained by blending (A) (A1) an oil- modified alkyl resin modified with a vegetable linseed oil, soybean oil, safflower oil, dehydrated castor oil or fatty acids constituting the oils and/or (A2) resin- modified alkyl resin modified with a phenolic, styrene, acrylic or urethane resin with (B) a calcium alkylbenzenesulfonate expressed by the formula (R is 12-30C alkyl; X is 20-40) at a weight ratio within the range of 1:4-1:10 and adding a solvent (mineral spirit), rust inhibitor (barium sulfonate), etc., as optional components. |
