PURPOSE:To compress redundancy at the time of transmitting a stereoscopic picture, and to obtain a reproduced picture by reversely moving, by obtaining a difference between a reference picture and a picture block at a position where the reference picture and the plural picture blocks are horizontally moved and representing the stereoscopic picture based on these difference picture blocks, the quantity of parallel displacement and the reference picture. CONSTITUTION:Picture signals image picked up by a right and a left eye cameras 2a, 2b are respectively converted by A/D converters 14a, 14b by a picture element unit. The picture signal from this right eye camera 2a is divided into four picture blocks by a picture divider 15 and inputted to a division picture processing part 30. The inputted picture block is horizontally moved in a parallel displacement processor 32 by the same quantity as the different quantity of the parallel displacement of a parallel displacement quantity generator 31. The parallel displaced picture signal is inputted to difference devices 331, 332, 333 to obtain a difference from the picture signal obtained by A/D converting 14b an output from the left eye camera 2b at every picture element. The outputs of the difference devices 331-333 are processed in extract 341-343, picture information quantity calculators 351, 353, etc., to output the reproduced picture. |
