PURPOSE:To easily improve the function of a system, by using a main ROM of a terminal equipment and also a memory means storing an application program and changing the contents of the memory means via a transmission line. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 4 which performs the communication control provided along with a CPU 6 which controls the application level, a ROM 5 which decided the communication procedure, and a ROM 7 containing an application program. Furthermore the interfaces 11 and 12 are added to the outside. These terminal equipments are connected to a transmission line via an electrical interface 3. While an EEPROM 8 storing an application program and a write controller 10 are provided. When a function is changed at an application level, the write data is separated from the normal data and transmitted. Thus the EEPROM 8 storing the application program is rewritten into a new program.
