PURPOSE:To produce a compound metallic oxide powder with hardly any residual organic substances, by bringing a specific organic solvent composition into contact with O2 or NO while irradiating the composition with ultraviolet rays. CONSTITUTION:A rare earth element alkoxide (e.g. yttrium triisopropoxide) is blended with an alkaline earth metal alkoxide (e.g. barium diisopropoxide), an alkoxide, organic acid salt, beta-diketone complex of beta-keto ester complex of copper (e.g. acetylacetonate) so as to provide the same stoichiometric relation in terms of the composition and metals of the aimed metallic compound oxide. The resultant blend is then dissolved in an organic solvent (e.g. ethyl acetate) to afford an organic solvent composition. The obtained composition is then brought into contact with O2 or NO while being irradiated with ultraviolet rays to provide precipitates, which are then dried at 80-120 deg.C and subsequently calcined at 300-600 deg.C. |
