A device for the injection of a mixture composed of fuel and carrier air into the intake ports (7), assigned to the individual cylinders of a mixture-compressing internal combustion engine (1), is described which has an injection valve (11), which meters the fuel in the injection lines (13), separately assigned to individual cylinders, as a function of the operating condition of the internal combustion engine. In addition a device is provided for the feeding and distribution of carrier air to the injection lines (13) leading to the injection points in the intake ports (7) of the internal combustion engine. In order to ensure an optimum fuel injection with good preparation and the most accurate possible alignment on the inlet valves or the opening of the intake ports into the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine, it is proposed that each of the injection lines (13) have a central passage (20) for the fuel feed and at least one second passage (21), annularly surrounding the central passage, for the carrier air feed. At the same time it is proposed that the central fuel passage (20) and the carrier air passage (21) or passages in each injection line (13) be arranged separately from one another and designed in such a way that a fuel jet (22), surrounded by a blanket of air (23), is formed at the injection point. <IMAGE>
