PURPOSE:To send a character to a pushphone by using ten-key from 0 to 9 and *, # keys in total 12 keys so as to attain all functions by a conventional typewriter. CONSTITUTION:In the function of a key pad, when '#' key is depressed once and then '1' key is depressed once, a program of a called party discriminates it to ben be the transmission of a character 'Q' and it is displayed on a display device. In depressing '1' key once after depressing '#' key consecutively twice, a character 'Z' is displayed. As a special function, in depressing '*' key once after depressing '#' key once, the display is switched from a capital letter into a small letter, and the capital letter display is restored in applying the same operation from the state of small letter display. Thus, characters are sent to a telephone line while communicating with a telephone set by using the keys '#', '*', '0-9'.
