PURPOSE: To ensure a superior connection between a heat-recovable sleeve and a substrate by moving a thermally softening sealing material from a higher recovery stress region to a lower region in thermally connecting the sleeve to the substrate. CONSTITUTION: A corrugation 12 and a section region are formed along the length of the fiber sleeve fitted around a cable splice section 6 protected by a linear 11 with small tapered end sections. Because a region 9 is larger in recovery power compared with a region 10, the region 9 recovers highly, and adhesive is moved into the region 10 to form adhesive rings 13 around the cable. The adhesive rings exhibit a strong sleeve-cable connection against the pressure in the splice case. An adhesive 5 forming individual rings 13 is heated and adequately activated during heating. |
