PURPOSE:To shorten a copying time for a first page by executing the movement of a scanning exposure optical system in going when the first page is copied in a manual mode at higher speed than in an automatic mode. CONSTITUTION:In the manual mode, the movement of the scanning exposure optical system from the right side (home position) of a copying machine main body part 1 to the left side of the copying machine main body part 1 is executed at the highest speed without controlling the speed of an optical motor 18. And when the automatic mode is selected, the movement of the scanning exposure optical system from the right side of the copying machine main body part 1 to the left side of the copying machine main body part 1 is carried out by driving the optical motor 18. In such a case, the returning of the scanning exposure optical system, that means, the movement from the right side to the left side of the copying machine main body 1, is executed in the manual mode at higher speed than in the automatic mode. Thus, the copying time for the first page can be shortened. |
