PURPOSE:To surely remove high frequency of abnormal noise which is offensive to the ear and to attain a quiet operation by providing an oscillation suppressing member inside an image carrier by elastically pressing the said member in the said carrier. CONSTITUTION:The oscillation suppressing member 11 is provided in the drum- shaped image carrier 1 and the outer diameter of the oscillation suppressing member 11 is made larger than the inner diameter of the image carrier 1, then the oscillation suppressing member is elastically deformed to be pressed into the image carrier 1. When, a frictional force which works between the image carrier 1 and an cleaning means is negative-damped self-oscillation occurs in the image carrier 1 with even degree of torsional oscillation where energy easily enters, and the abnormal noise which is very offensive to the ear occurs. If the oscillation suppressing member 11 is inserted into the image carrier 1, the oscillation suppressing member 11 slides with the inner wall of the image carrier 1 which is going to oscillate and gives positive damping to the image carrier 1, so that the oscillation which is about to occur in the image carrier 1 is suddenly damped. Thus, the self-oscillation does not occur and the abnormal noise is prevented. |
