In a method of knitting a trim cover for an automotive seat, in which the lateral side poriions (a2, a3, a4, a5) are formed together with the seating centre portion (a1) by means of a flat knitting machine, a first knitting area (a2) is gradually reduced in width so as to take on a concave curvature at each side (a2-1, a2-2), and then a second knitting area (a1, a3, a4) is gradually increased in width while at the same time the sides of the second knitting area (a3-1, a4-1) are integrally connected with the concavely curved sides of the first knitting area. The second area is reduced in width along sides (a3-2, a4-2) and a third area (a5) is knitted with increasing width and integrally connected to the second area at the sides. In this way, is obtained a three-dimensional trim cover assembly which covers a cushion member. <IMAGE> |
