PURPOSE:To work in a suppression chamber in parallel with execution of diaphragm floor work by providing temporary support members which are supported only by pedestals of a reactor containment vessel constructed on mat concrete. CONSTITUTION:When pedestals 3 of a reactor pressure vessel are completed on a mat concrete 1 up to the installed level of a seal plate 7, the first installation of the construction of a diaphragm floor 4, a temporary truss-like support member 12 is set. The support member 12 is constructed to be supported on the inside wall surface of a suppression chamber 8 of the pedestals 3. After the support member 12 is set, concrete placing and curing such as in installation work of the seal plate 7 and construction of the diaphragm floor 4 can be immediately conducted. Further lining work and the like can be conducted at the bottom part of the suppression chamber 8 in parallel with the construction of the diaphragm floor 4 work.
