PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of an error in the baking color of a material to be cooked, by a method wherein, when a material to be cooked, e.g. bread, is baked, by selecting one of baking colors in a plurality of stages, the baking color is displayed, a time of energization of a load is automatically decided. CONSTITUTION:A baking color selecting means is formed by a baking color selection switch 11A and a resistor 11B, and a baking color can be sequentially selected in a plurality of stages each time the baking color selection switch 11A is pressed. A load energization starting means is formed by an energization starting switch 16A and a resistor 16B, and an output therefrom is inputted to a microcomputer 18 serving as an energization time deciding means. Lighting is sequentially effected with the switch 11A pressed as a baking color display means 12 is watched, with the switch 16A pressed after a baking color is set to a desired color, by outputting an outputting an output signal only for the energizing time corresponding to a set baking color, of energizing times stored by baking color, the microcomputer 18 energizes a heater 15 through a transistor 14B, a relay coil 14C, and a relay contact 14D to bake a bread.
