PURPOSE:To expand an output bit simply by adding an underflow detection output function and a function bringing the output to a prescribed level forcibly by an underflow detection signal. CONSTITUTION:A comparator 1 comparing an input analog voltage signal Vi from a terminal A with a reference voltage formed by dividing a minimum voltage VL and a highest voltage VH by series resistor R0-R15 is provided with an underflow comparator detecting an input signal VIN below the minimum voltage VL. A gate circuit 7 keeps each bit of an underflow signal from a master latch circuit 6 by the control signal from a terminal L in the open state to apply the control as to whether or not each bit is delivered to a slave latch circuit 8 and the control as to whether or not the output binary code performed by a code conversion circuit 4 is fixed forcibly to a prescribed level by the underflow signal. Thus, the output bit is expanded with very simple constitution.
