The invention relates to the manufacture of two-component plastics injection moulded strips and like parts, which are preferably used in automobile manufacture. Strips of this kind were hitherto manufactured by the coextrusion process, where the freedom of design was limited by the fact that not any desired shape could be manufactured. The object was achieved by the fact that the time cycles of mould, machine and injection were matched to each other by means of a rotatable, pivotable and removable injection mould that is mounted on a special two-component injection moulding machine, in such a manner that, for example, the rigid PVC medium for the main strip, which is injected into the parting plane, is connected shortly after forming a surface skin to the soft PVC medium injected into the mould centre. With this mode of operation one or more soft lips or other shapes can be injection-moulded on. It is additionally possible by this mode of operation to inject covers with seals or other parts of complicated design by a two-component process.
