PURPOSE:To make exact measurement possible by providing an arithmetic control means for measuring a moisture value in accordance with a function F(Z) by calculating the function F(Z) with a sample impedance Z as a variable irrespectively of the temp. drift of an oscillation circuit and detection circuit. CONSTITUTION:An arithmetic control circuit 24 outputs a driving signal for a linear motor 16 to a relay control circuit 18 and lowers a pressurizing body 8 when a measuring program is started after an electrode vessel 14 contg. a sample is imposed on an electrode base. The body 8 stops descending upon pressing of the sample in the vessel 14 to a prescribed pressure. The circuit 24 measures the temp. T of the sample by a temp. sensing element 9 mounted on the front end of the body 8. The circuit 24 is then inputted with the output voltage via the detection circuit 20 and an A/D converter 22 and calculates the value of the function F(Z) with the impedance Z of the sample as the variable by substituting the value of the output voltage into the prescribed equation. The circuit 24 reads out the previously stored experiment data corresponding to the sample to be measured, converts the calculated value of the function F(Z) to the moisture value (m), corrects the value (m) in accordance with the measured temp. T to determine the moisture value M and displays this value on a display part 7.
