PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of editing and retrieval by segmenting a space into the substance table group of a building, a road and the like and a table group showing the relation of intersubstance. CONSTITUTION:The space which defines data is segmented into three spaces of a user space (a), a mapping space (b) and a physical space (c). The user space (a) describes a relation which is concerned with the substance in a facility diagram such as a mold steel pipe (VL1), a gate value (UB2) and the like, which are easy to be familiar with. The mapping space (b) describes the relation of intersubstance which has been defined in the user space as the internal expression of a computer. The physical space (c) is the space which physically defines the diagram which a diagram input means has fetched into the internal part of the computer, picture data itself, data which a CAD has generated and a transferred result as the internal expression of the computer which executes processings.
