The stapling machine has a support (2) for a workpiece, a driving-in part (8) contg. a magazine (9) for staples (10) and a driver (11) for delivery of staples from the magazine. The driver is movable reatively to the support against the effect of a first return component (13) from a loading position in which the object is fitted on the support to one for driving in with the magazine located on the workpiece. A circuit (17) produces a locating impulse to the electromagnetic device sufficient to provide a magnetic field to move the armature (7), driving the driving-in part from the loading position to that for driving in a staple. This impulse is, however, inadequate for moving the driver from the starting to expelling positions. A second impulse provided by the circuit gives a magnetic field which during the final phase of the driving-in stroke gives the armature sufficient energy to move the driver from the starting to the expelling positions, thus feeding a staple from the magazine and inserting it in the workpiece. |
