PURPOSE:To provide a well vibration-proof construction with a light weight at a low cost and improve the assembly operation by applying a biasing force to a valve from a plunger spring only rather than directly from a valve spring. CONSTITUTION:A wax 1 is contracted and expanded by the heat of an engine cooling water passing through a body 9 of a control device, thereby moving a piston 2. As a result, a plunger 3 is slid to thereby move a valve 6. As a result, an air hole 12 is opened and closed to control an air quantity flowing through an air hole 13. The sliding movement of the plunger 3 is transmitted through a plunger spring 5 to the valve 6. Accordingly, the valve 6 does not receive a biasing force of a valve spring 7 having a large spring constant. Therefore, it is sufficient to use lightweight members for the valve 6 and the plunger 3, thereby eliminating a possibility of resonance. Furthermore, as these members can be constructed as a sub-assembly with the plunger piston 5, the assembly operation is improved. |
