PURPOSE:To obtain a medium which has large coercive force and Kerr rotating angle and is optimized in Curie temp. by using an alloy having a specific compsn. of a rare earth-Ti-Fe including Y or a combination system of Fe and Co to form the magnetized film of the medium formed with the magnetized amorphous film having an axis of easy magnetization in the direction perpendicular to the film plane. CONSTITUTION:The magnetized film is formed of RxTiyTz (R denotes a rare earth element including Y; T denotes Fe or combination use of Fe and Co; the ranges of x, y, z are respectively 4<=x<=15, 4<y<=15, 70<=z<=92 in molar %). The large Kerr rotating angle is obtd. and the chemical stability is improved according to the thin film made of such compsn. In addition, the deterioration in magnetic characteristics is obviated even after resting for >=1 months. The Curie temp. is optimized and the information recording density is increased by adequately specifying the ratio of Co.
