The production of a spun-bonded web from synthetic endless filament in a spun-bonded web apparatus having a spinneret system, a cooling shaft, a drafting gap, a diffuser shaft, a web-depositing conveyor and a device for supplying process air and for sucking off waste air through the web-depositing conveyor. The cooling shaft has shaft walls provided with air-outlet orifices. Process air required for cooling can be introduced through these into the cooling shaft. The air stream is sucked off at least partially through the spun-bonded web forming from deposited loops of endless filament and through the web-depositing conveyor. The depositing length of the loops of endless filament is measured in the finished spun-bonded web over the width of the spun-bonded web. The measured value is compared with a predetermined desired value. In the event of a deviation of the measured value from the desired value, the angle of incidence of pivoting wings arranged in the diffuser shaft and pivotable about a horizontal axis is varied, specifically, in the case of a positive deviation of the measured value from the desired value (depositing length higher than the desired value), the angle of incidence is reduced. <IMAGE>
