<p>The invention relates to a connector for joining the ends of two pipes. One of the pipes may have its adjoining end radially enlarged to form a sleeve into which the other pipe is inserted. Alternatively, both the pipes may be connected by an external pipe or sleeve or by an internal pipe. In all of these cases, the connector is located in the radial space between the inner and outer pipes. The connector comprises a main body of relatively soft, elastic, non-compressible material which extends between and abuts the opposed surfaces of the pipes and a conically shaped ring contained within such body, the ring tapering outwardly away from the inner pipe in a direction towards the end of such pipe.</p> |
