The invention relates to the use of fine streams of water 4 sprayed onto a lap of fibres 2 in order to manufacture a non-woven 9. The fixed injectors 3 are transverse and they deliver several streams of water 4 each of which is continuous. One of the streams of water 4 passes through the perforations of a rotary cylinder 8, whilst sucking box-structures 6 are housed under the lap 2.
