PURPOSE:To essentially cancel the eccentricity of respective rotary central shafts of both fixed/rotary cylinders by executing a groove cutting processing after respective bearings and rotary shafts are combined to a fixed cylinder main body before the cutting processing of the groove having a tape guide groove working allowance. CONSTITUTION:When the cutting work of a tape guide groove is executed, first, a shaft 7 in an assembling condition is loaded and fixed to collet chucks 9/10 and a fixed cylinder main body 1a and a main shaft 11 are locked by a locking pin 12. In such a condition, a blade 19 is brought into contact with the groove cutting non-working part of the outer diameter part of the fixed cylinder main body 1a, the prescribed cutting-in quantity of the suitable quantity is provided, synchronized to the rotation of the main shaft 11, a prescribed reciprocating motion is executed in the direction of an arrow B and a magnetic tape guide groove applies the cutting work to a prescribed shape and support. Thus, for the concentricity and squareness on a fixed cylinder processing, the eccentricity of respective rotation central shafts with a fixed cylinder and a rotary cylinder is essentially cancelled without requiring the high accuracy like a conventional example.
