Swimming pool pump and filter unit comprises a base, a filter housing at least a part of which is defined by the base itself, and mounted on the base, a pump and motor as well as pipework associated with the pump and filter. - The filter housing is spheroidal with the base itself defining a concave spheroidal, operatively lower part of the housing, the unit including a convex dome-shaped lid to mate with the housing part of the base providing the complete housing. At least some pipes of the associated pipework are arranged to terminate at externally accessible ports located at the walls of the base.
