PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a host control means by storing specifi cation concerning an error control processing and a transmission completing processing for which the host control means has in the table of a line adapter. CONSTITUTION:Information specifying a processing concerning the error control and the transmission completion is written by the host control means in the address corresponding to character in the table 12 of the line adapter 1. An operation circuit 13 operates at every character included in a message based on the contents of the table and transmits the operated result of the error control after transmitting the character. Thus, the request of the function and the instantaneousness to the host control part is reduced, so that the predictive purpose can be attained at low cost.
