PURPOSE:To accelerate press forming and to improve accuracy by providing a pressing member exerting pressure on the upper face of a material to be worked by moving with a ram to the forming tool fitting face side of the ram. CONSTITUTION:A pressing member 9 to the material W to be worked is provided at the fitting face side of a punch 8 opposing to the material W to be worked of the ram 1. The pressing member 9 is made lighter than the ram 1 and a hole 10 for passing a punch 8 is pierced at the center as well. The pressing member 9 is made slidable for the ram 1, supported by a spring 11 on the ram 1 and a good conductor plate 2A is placed on the upper part. When a large impact current is passed to coil 4 for driving, electromagnetic force is generated on the ram 1, pressing member 9 and good conductor plates 2, 2A, the ram 1 is descended via the member 9 and the punch 8 effects punch forming. The member 9 constrains the generation of wrinkles, so press forming is accelerated to improve its accuracy.
