PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition excellent in lubricating oil resistance, engine oil resistance, low-temperature resistance and heat resistance, comprising a specified copolymer and chemicals for vulcanization. CONSTITUTION:A glycidyl ester of a saturated aliphatic carboxylic acid, of formula I (wherein R is a 1-4C saturated alkyl) is copolymerized, by ring opening, with an ethylenically unsaturated epoxide of formula II [wherein Y is allyloxy, (meth)acryloxy or carboxy] and/or a halogen-containing epoxide of formula III (wherein X is Cl, Br or chloroacetoxy) and a monomer such as ethylene oxide in the presence of a catalyst such as orthophosphoric acid to obtain a copolymer having a main chain structure composed of 10mol.% structural units of formula IV, at least 1mol.% structural units of formulas V and/or VI and at least 30mol.% structural units of formula VII (wherein R' is H, methyl or phenyl) and having a reduced viscosity as measured in a 0.1% monochlorobenzene solution at 80 deg.C, >=0.8. To this copolymer 0.01-20wt.% chemical for vulcanization (e.g., hexamethylenediamine carbamate) is added.)
