PURPOSE:To improve molten metal running in a mold, to promote solidification and to obtain a cast product providing cast-in hollow member without casting defect by heating a hollow member under setting condition in the mold or core and after that, cooling. CONSTITUTION:At the time of completion of fitting work for the core 28, a burner 44 is ascended through the center part of inside of a cylinder liner 30 and gas for combustion is supplied from a hose 48 and ignited by ignition means at tip part thereof. By this method, the inner circumferential face of the liner 30 is heated and together with the heating, the lower mold die base 12 is shifted to the pouring position. Next, whole the casting apparatus 10 is inclined and molten metal 40a is poured into a cavity36 from a molten metal vessel 40. At the time of completing the pouring, a cooling nozzle having the same shape as the burner 44 and injecting air, is shifted and ascended and the air is injected into the inner face of the liner 30 to cool and while promoting the solidification of the cylinder block, the directional solidification is developed. At the time of completing the solidification, the mold 16 is opened by horizontal type opening/closing device 24 and the solidified cylinder block is taken out and removal of the core 28 is executed.
