PURPOSE:To eliminate surface defects of a substrate by laminating a surface layer of an alluminum alloy on the outer circumference of an inner core mem ber, forming the ruggedness of plural spherical dents on the outer circumference of said surface layer. CONSTITUTION:The surface layer made of the alluminum alloy of high purity and 0.5-2.0mm thickness is formed on the outer circumference of the inner core member to form the substrate for the photoconductive member. The yield strength of the core member is <=5 kg, and that of the surface layer is >=5.0kg. Fine rigid balls are forced to collide with the outer surface of the surface layer to form the ruggedness of plural spherical dents. The size of the ruggedness is controlled to D/R>=0.035, and D-<=500Xm, where R is the radius of curvature of the ruggedness and D is the width of the ruggedness. A specified functional deposited film are laminated on the surface of the substrate to form an electrophotographic sensitive body, thus permitting surface defects to eliminated, and the substrate superior for the photosensitive body to be obtained by the presence of the roughness on the surface layer. |
