PURPOSE:To obtain the titled base material, having excellent adhesive properties to cells, carrying out multiplying and sustaining of cellular function and capable of providing high-density cell cultivation for a long period, by coating the surface of a high polymer base material having the treated surface with a cumulative film of monomolecular films. CONSTITUTION:A high polymer base material, obtained by treating the surface thereof with plasma, etc., improving adhesive properties to a cumulative film of monomolecular films, coating the surface with the cumulative film while controlling structure thereof, enhancing adhesive properties to cells and capable of holding the cells in a stable form and configuration. The base material 1 for cultivating cells is placed on a support screen 2 and a cell suspension if injected from holes 4 of a housing 3 to bond the cells onto the base material 1. A culture fluid is perfused through pipes 5 to multiply the cells.
