PURPOSE:To obtain a solvent for pressure-sensitive copy paper having reduced odor, excellent dissolubility of coloring agent and excellent biodegradability, by incorporating phenyltolylbutane isomer mixture into the solvent for pressure- sensitive copy paper. CONSTITUTION:A solvent for pressure-sensitive copy paper contains phenyl tolylbutane mixture composed of 1,1-phenyltolylbutane, 1,2-phenyltolylbutane and 1,3-phenyltolylbutane. Phenyltolylbutane mixture composed of 1,1-isomer, 1,2-isomer and 1,3-isomer has reduced odor, excellent dissolubility of coloring agent such as crystal violet lactone and excellent raw decomposition perfor mance when compared with diphenyl butane compound or 1-phenyl-1-butane. Coloring image being produced through utilization of such a solvent for pressure- sensitive copy paper has high coloring density and excellent clearness. |
