PURPOSE:To manufacture the titled alloy ingot with a uniform composition, by applying vacuum arc melting to a consumable electrode prepared by mixing one or more kinds among V-Al-Sn, V-Al-Cr, and V-Al-Cr-Sn master alloys and spongy Ti. CONSTITUTION:One or more kinds among V-Al-Sn, V-Al-Cr, and V-Al-Cr-Sn master alloys are mixed with the spongy Ti so as to be formed into a consumable electrode, which is subjected to vacuum are melting. Since the above- mentioned master alloys has melting points and densities similar to those of Ti, respectively, in this method, the Ti-15-3 alloy ingot free from defects such as segregation, etc., improved in quality, and having uniform composition can be manufactured.
