PURPOSE:To obtain an output signal in which phase shift is applied arbitrarily, by generating first and second signals whose phases are different by pi/2 from an input signal, and synthesizing them after adjusting the amplitudes of those signals. CONSTITUTION:The first and second signals D and B whose phases are different by pi/2 with each other are generated from the input signal A by an orthogonal signal generating means 1. Next, the amplitudes of the first and second signals D and B are adjusted by first and second amplitude adjusting means 2 and 3. And the outputs E and F of the means 2 and 3 are synthesized by a synthesizing means 4, then, a phase shifted output signal can be obtained. The means 1 connects two the same delay circuits 5 and 6 to the input signal A in order, and obtains the second signal B from its midpoint, and obtains the first signal D by a synthesizing means 7.
