SOLID-STATE IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE

PURPOSE:To eliminate a delay in a shutter time and to remove a blooming due to an unnecessary charge by executing successively a charge discharging operation until shutter command is inputted and discarding the charge stored in an image pickup element to a cleaning drain. CONSTITUTION:If a shutter command pulse SP is not inputted to a driving circuit 3, an image pickup part transfer pulse PI1 and a storage part transfer pulse PS1 formed in plural cleaning pulse generators 15 and outputted from a pulse output part 17 and a stored part transfer pulse P1S are successively outputted and the stored charge due to an optical image is not left in an image pickup part 10. When the shutter command pulse SP is inputted, the image pickup part transfer pulse PI1 and the storage part transfer pulse PS1 stop and the storage of the charge in the image pickup part 10 is started. The stored charge until then is discarded to the cleaning drain 13 through a storage part 11 and the image pickup part has not charge but is cleaned. The charge is stored in the image pickup part 10 by an exposure and this becomes a shutter charge.
