PURPOSE:To improve the dispersibility of magnetic powder, the surface characteristic of a magnetic coated film and electromagnetic conversion characteristic by specifying the glass transition temp. of a magnetic layer formed by using a vinyl chloride copolymer, rubber binder and polyisocyanate to <=80 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:The vinyl chloride copolymer consisting of vinyl chloride, vinyl alcohol and amine-modified vinyl compd. as essential constituting components is used as a binder resin, by which the dispersibility of the magnetic powder and the surface characteristic of the magnetic coated layer are improved and the good magnetic characteristics and electromagnetic conversion characteristic are obtd. Physical properties such as traveling property and wear resistance of the magnetic coated film are improved as well by adding the rubber binder and polyisocyanate to the vinyl chloride copolymer. The glass transition temp. of the magnetic layer is specified to <=80 deg.C, by which the calendering of the magnetic layer is facilitated and the surface characteristic of the magnetic coated layer is improved.
