PURPOSE:To suppress an increase of the capacity of a word dictionary, and to reduce the complicacy of a registering method to the word dictionary, by providing a verb extracting means, and a honorific expression adding means generating an honorific expression by a pattern and adding a prefix, etc., showing the respect, to an extracted verb. CONSTITUTION:A character-string of Japanese language inputted from an input means 1 such as a keyboard, etc., is sent out to a verb extracting means 2. For instance, when a character-string of 'hear' is inputted by the means 1, it is analyzed by the means 2 and is recognized to be an end-form or a substantive-continuative form of a verb 'hear' ('ka'-line 5-stage conjugation) and sent out to an honorific expression adding means 3. In the means 3, a prefix, a supplementary verb, an auxiliary verb, etc., showing the respect are added to the verb extracted by the means 2, in accordance with various patterns, sent out to an honorific expression presenting means 4 and displayed on a CRT. In such a way, since an honorific expression is generated by a pattern, it becomes unnecessary to register all of various honorific expressions in a word dictionary, an increase of the capacity of the word dictionary is suppressed, and also, the complicacy of a registering method to the word dictionary can be reduced.
