发明名称 THERMAL TRANSFER INK MEDIUM
摘要 PURPOSE:To record high-density uniform images with relatively small energy even on a recording medium poor in surface smoothness, by providing e heat-fusible first ink layer comprising a coloring agent mixed therein, an intermediate layer comprising a low melting point material showing little lowering in viscosity according to temperature and a heat fusible second ink layer, on a heat-resistant support film. CONSTITUTION:With heat applied by a thermal head, an ink of a second ink layer 14 at a recording part is melted, and a portion of the melted ink penetrates between fibers at a part of contact with a paper (s). On the other hand, an intermediate layer 13 comprises as a main constituent a thermoplastic resin showing little lowering in viscosity according to temperature, so that it maintains the ink of the first ink layer 12 at the recording part in a laminar state without permitting the ink to flow. When a support film 11 is released from the paper (s) in this condition, the ink of the first ink layer 12 at the recording part is transferred onto the paper (s) together with the intermediate layer 13 while maintaining the uniform laminar form. In addition, the ink 14a at a non-contact part of a second ink layer 14 having become laminar caused by flowing is also transferred onto the paper (s) while being supported by the intermediate layer 13.
