PURPOSE:To realize a long service life while reducing the manufacture time, by placing the first electrolyte layer formed in a high speed and the second electrolyte layer formed in a low speed, between a pair of electrodes. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 2 is superposed on one side of a base body 1, over which the first electrolyte layer 3 is formed by a fast film forming means, a spray coating, for example. Then over the first electrolyte layer 3, the dense second electrolyte layer 4 is formed by a low film forming means such as the CVD method. And over the second electrolyte layer 4, an electrode 5 is superposed, to obtain a solid electrolyte fuel cell. The first electrolyte layer 3 may be formed on the second electrolyte layer 4 after the latter layer 4 is formed. In such a composition, the thickness of the electrolyte layers is large enough to prevent a short circuit between the electrodes 2 and 5. And since the whole electrolyte layers are made dense substantially, the efficiency is improved and a long service life of the cell can be realized. |
