The system comprises a main processing unit (1), sub processing units (2), a data transfer network (3) and an instruction broadcasting bus (102). The main unit (1) has memory banks (13,14) and an arithmetic unit (12) wherewas each sub unit consists of a memory bank (14), an arithmetic unit (12) and an instruction queue (15). Common instructions are stored in the main unit memory (13), which are read out before execution and broadcasted to the sub units (2). The instructions re then stored in the are then stored in the instruction queues (15) and executed by each sug sub unit.
