PURPOSE:To reinforce the coated film of a magnetic layer and to improve durability by using the magnetic layer contg. conductive potassium titanate whiskers. CONSTITUTION:This disk has the magnetic layer contg. the conductive potassium titanate whiskers. Arbitrary whiskers having 5-10<-1>OMEGA-cm specific resistance value, 0.2-0.5mum fiber diameter and <=10mum fiber length are selectable for the conductive potassium titanate whisker to be used. The two effects; the impartation of semiconductivity and the reinforcement and improvement in durability of the coated film of the magnetic layer are obtd. with one material by using the potassium titanate whiskers imparted with electrical conductivity.
