The invention relates to an apparatus for cultivating building parts with as many suspended flowers or green plants as required. These may, for example, be strands which hang closely together or plants which are arranged in the manner of garlands. This is made possible according to the invention in that, as the figure represented in the drawing shows, root balls 2 are cultivated on a hose 1. These comprise a peat and soil mixture which is held together with the addition of a binding agent, e.g. loam. A plurality of root balls, which are enclosed by a netting tube 3, are cultivated on one hose. Bores 4 are introduced in the hose 1 in the region of the root balls. If the hose is connected to a water vessel, then the root balls can be kept moist by the water which emerges through the bores. A plurality of hoses can be connected to one water vessel, it being possible to tend all the planted root balls and/or the flowers planted therein.
